in Brazil, there is something called "aussie bread". not really aussie, it's some kind of brown bread with sweetish notes and it turns out to be absolute kino... the cocoa and sugary notes are delightful. it's ackshually the only kind of bread that i really crave and enjoy eating...

It's interesting that in Brazil there is something called "aussie bread" because in Australia there is something called "fairy bread". That seems like a nice cultural exchange.

Kanon's Pi-tan Mission

So, as you can see, this website is currently hosted on NearlyFreeSpeech. NFS is a woke ~~(of the good kind)~~ web provider with a business model of "paying for what you use". This is great, but not perfect. I'd rather not have to pay anything, so this is where this mission starts.

I currently have an almost 10-year-old Raspberry Pi 3 laying around in my house. I never bothered fiddling with it since it was my father's and I expected him to come get it eventually, but that never happened.

I was genuinely worried it wouldn't even boot up, but surprisingly it did. I also found a 3.5-inch RPi LCD screen next to it and figured it was compatible. The Pi comes with Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, and a strikingly low 1GB of RAM, but that should be more than enough to serve this website for the small number of users that will be using it.

My goal is to have it sitting on my table.

That said, I think a good starting point would be listing all the things I need to start this project.

1. Charger

I have a few old phone chargers that seem to work, but I'd rather use something safer and made specifically for this purpose.

2. Micro SD

Enough space to host this website and any other random stuff I might want to run locally.

3. Case

My father is currently 3D printing it. I guess I'll have to enable images in the replies to keep everyone ~~(probably no one)~~ updated.

I plan on having it stand on my table at around with some sick terminal on it so my wife can think I'm really a SUPPAHACKA. Still deciding on what to run on it other than this website. Open for suggestions. The latest PewDiePie video had some cool things.

That's it. I want to have a proper homelab one day, but I guess this is better than muffin.
